@guineagirl96 I’m an international, and my mid year grades were received and processed on Feb 9th.
@guineagirl96 What’s the interview like? And how exactly would you prepare for it? On the link, it said that they would ask us about ourselves as well as current issues. Did they ask you about a lot of current issues?
@guineagirl96 yeah I’m curious about that too. Current issues, and political topics, are not my strengths. Would they ask a lot of questions on those topics ?
The interview is different depending on the designation (different questions). Since I was Artist Designation, I was interviewed as part of my live audition. All the questions they asked me were pretty much just about my music, additional performing arts, and academic background. They also asked things about what I wanted to do/what I wanted to be involved in at the university, both academically and extracurricular.
I’m not really sure what they ask the finalists in the other designations, but I think science is tailored more towards stem.
Anyone else who hasn’t heard back yet?
Haven’t heard yet. Has anyone got a rejection email yet? i.e. not making it to finalist stage?
@BhooD You an international?
@badlands … yes … South Africa.
Anyone received a rejection as yet? Also, @guineagirl96 do they send out rejections, or do they just notify those proceeding to the finals?
@badlands As a scholar at UR with a friend who was a semi finalist but didn’t make it as a finalist I can tell you that they do send out emails notifying semi finalists that they didn’t make it as finalists. Did your counselor upload your mid year report yet because that might be the reason your decision isn’t out yet
Hey @sallywoot, my mid year report was sent in and processed on Feb 9th, but I haven’t heard back yet. I’m an international, if that makes a difference. I don’t know what to expect right now, and whether I should consider no news as bad news.
@terry137 The blue science scholars category had 19 half hour time slots for interviews. How many slots for interviews were there in the red category?
@terry137 How many interview slots were available for the red scholars? There were 19 slots available for blue scholar interviews
Is anyone here an Artist Scholar Finalist?
My D just found out that she is a Boatwright Red scholar finalist. Her midyear grades are still not posted but her school did fax them last Friday per my request. I still don’t know if midyear grades have been sent out yet in FCPS. We are thrilled. Also, there are 20 interview slots.
I just counted all the interview times for science, Boatwright and Oldham and there were about 78 slots. Good luck to everyone.
Any rejections yet?
@GraphIt @PandaBearMom There are ten, hour long slots. I believe the interview is supposed to be for 30 minutes. Maybe the other 30 minutes are for breaks and discussion within the interviewing committee.
What is a red scholar vs a blue scholar? Also, notifications are being sent out until March 3.
@moomzer red and blue are two different interview groups for science scholars.
