Is St. Andrews really still taking apps? I thought I read a while ago that their deadline for North American applicants was March 1.

The UCAS application deadline for non-EU students is June 30; however, St Andrews asks US applicants not to use UCAS and forward their applications directly to the admissions office.

University of Houston is very generous to National MErit finalists:

"National Merit Finalist Scholarship
The University of Houston will automatically award scholarship support to cover the cost of tuition, required fees, room, board, and a $250 per semester book stipend to National Merit Scholarship Finalists who select UH as their first choice in accordance with the rules and deadlines established by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC).

The overall scholarship package includes any scholarship awarded by NMSC or any Corporate Sponsored Merit Scholarship. The university’s contribution will be adjusted for the recipient of these types of awards. Also, the total room and board portion will be awarded only to those who choose to live on campus; the room and board will be adjusted for those who choose to live off campus.

For more information, contact Brenda Rhoden, National Merit coordinator for The Honors College, 713-743-9025 or 1-888-827-0366 (toll-free), or e-mail bjrhoden@uh.edu."

Deadline was April 1, but probably a quick call to the lady mentioned above with your situation could give you a little more time.

Good point, 2college.

university of missouri is still accepting

Missouri S&T (Rolla)? South Dakota Tech? New Mexico Tech?

Well, out-of-state applicants can still apply to CSU San Bernardino.

If you’re interested in starting a little later and applying to the CSU system, CSU Stanislaus will take winter entrance applications in June and spring entrance applications in August. San Jose State takes applications for spring entrance in August.

Also, UCs will take winter applications in July and spring next October. http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/admissions/undergrad_adm/apply_to_uc.html

University of Central Florida
Wesleyan

Try those, they’re the ones I’m still getting emails from.

And I’m a NM finalist too and UT Dallas gave all the other finalists I know full rides and more. So check them out, I’m sure they’ll want to have you.

Good luck man.

We recieved an e-mail from University of Wyoning last week. They are still offering OOS very generous scholarships.

beloit!!! i think!! its a great school, too

College of Saint Rose in Albany, NY.

rhode island college

University of Alabama gives full rides to NM finalists

UCF and USF give full rides + perks for NMF.

Both of them are rolling admissions

Keep in mind that many public schools with late deadlines or rolling admissions have a priority scholarship deadline that is often much, much earlier. If you want to get money for your NMF status, you may need to wait a year.

To get money for the NMF status, the OP won’t be able to go elsewhere and then transfer in though, will she?

The NMF money is for freshmen, right, and she needs to either find someone who will take her now (Houston is definitely worth a try) or take a gap year?

It would depend on the school, but, yes, most NMSF/NMF scholarships are for freshmen only.

I just checked and, unfortunately, ASU’s scholarship deadline seems to have been March 9th. I can try to find some schools giving national merit scholarships that are still open if you’d like though.

UT Dallas didn’t seem to have a separate scholarship deadline and had a full ride plus stipend if you select it as your first choice for National Merit, which you should still be able to do.
Chaminade University of Honolulu had scholarships based off of GPA that were still open. You would still be taking on a fair bit of debt there though.

Those were the only two I could find that hadn’t closed merit scholarships yet.

I was just on the University of Kansas website - and it says it is still accepting applications - but no scholarship aps.
