I was wondering if anyone here knew about really decent, reputable schools with a good Communications program.
I only decided to apply to two universities and I think a third wouldn't hurt considering the difficulty of getting into the 2.

basic stats:
gpa 3.9
ecs: clubs, comm service etc, self taught alto sax, writer
would be applying as a junior.
thanks!

It really depends on what area of communications is of most interest to you, and what you plan to do with your degree. Typically, Northwestern University's School of Communications is highly regarded. Syracuse University's Newhouse School of Communications is also a great option for the right person. To determine what constitutes the "right person" for any communications school, it is best to define your goals and interests and to then investigate each university's offerings. Not sure if your post was mislabeled or if you are looking for a rolling admissions school with a good communications major? Ironically, it looks like we may have a failure to communicate.

SUNY New Paltz has rolling admissions and a good communication dept.

thank you icy9. I WAS looking for a rolling admissions school with a good communication dept.
lilymoon-i will look into SUNY NP, thanks!

If you go to this site:

Chronicle Facts & Figures: Faculty Scholarly Productivity Index

it lists the top 10 ranked communication departments based upon faculty research and how often listed on websites.

Of the schools on this list, I think the University of Arizona, Michigan State, and the University of Missouri at Columbia would meet your criteria (although these are more of safe matches and safeties based upon your current GPA).
