Any Shot At Uc-berkeley?

Hey guys, I'm a Connecticut resident at one of the top high schools in the nation. I saw UC-Berkeley's acceptance rating out of state (11%) and became very discouraged about considering the school. I was wondering if I could get some advice if I have any chance of admission or if I am simply wasting my time.

My stats are as follows:

Weighted GPA: 4.05 (standard weighting scale)
Unweighted GPA: 3.9

SATs:
Math: 800
Verbal: 670
Writing: 760

Composite: 2230/1470

SAT IIs:
Mathematics 2: 800
English Literature: 700

ACTs:
Composite: 32 (first try)
Breakdown:
Math: 34
English: 34
Reading: 31
Science: 28
English/Writing: 34 (11 essay)

AP Courses:
9 total:
AP English Language: 5
AP English Literature: /
AP Physics C Mechanics: 4
AP Physics C Electromagnetism: 4
AP Micro Economics: 5
AP Macro Economics: 5
AP Calculus BC: 4
AP Statistics: 4
AP German Language: 3

Top 10% of my class (no known ranks, I am probably top 20 students out of 400)

Extracurriculars:
National Honor Society
Phi Delta Theta German Honors Society
Spanish Honors Society
AP Scholar
Key Club
German Club
American Field Service Club
2 Years Varsity Golf
1 Year Indoor Track

I am also seriously focused on an undergraduate business degree and would be applying to the school of letters and sciences with an undeclared pre-business and management major

Your ECs are good, as are your scores (though the CR score could be higher). Do you have any honors/awards? Your GPA is also slightly weak (the W, that is), which, combined with your OOS status, will make Berkeley very difficult. I'd say slight reach - reach (50% or below), though it'll depend on your essays.

Just out of curiosity, where did you get that figure of 11% acceptance rate for OOS students?

It's actually 20% (despite the self-selection of OOSers). It's about 10% of the total admits.

http://students.berkeley.edu/admissions/freshmen.asp

^ Yeah, that's what I thought.

I think you got a good shot. Remember that after u get into Berkeley, u have to keep up really good grades ur first year and half because the acceptance to Hass business school ur junior year is separate and very selective.

Ill supplement the ec list to ecs and awards and honors:

anymore input? its been difficult thinking about the extremely low acceptance rate out of state.
