I took Calculus at Columbia University over the summer and I had a 4.0 GPA

EC- I did Model UN for 2 years, I was involved with the school paper for a year, Odyssey of the Mind, I’m joining Key Club this year

I’m not sure if this counts but I worked at my dad’s lab over the summer at Cornell Medical School

I am applying for math
Just wanting to know if i have a shot…thanks

If sports count, I have 4 years of Varsity Cross Country, a year of basketball, and 3 years of Varsity Track and Field

You have a pretty good shot.

Very good shot.

The only weakness I see is your 520 writing score and your GPA. If you're applying as a math major, it's not as critical, but BU is very big on freshman writing skills. Spend a lot of time on your essays.

Would a 600 for CGS look pretty good?

I think a 600 is fine for CGS.

Thanks. Makes me a little more confident.

BU's average writing section score is around 640 (I'm not sure about this, if it's not the whole school's average, it's definitely the average for ENG students). So, if you can, definitely improve on that.

Other than that, great chance since you are applying for CAS not ENG.

thanks all =) I am going to try and getting atleast a 2100 on the SAT when I retake it and 700's on my SAT II's

Make sure you write a lot on the essay. Length corellates with score.
