Any significance difference between 2300+ and 2400 in terms of college applications?

I got a 2360 on my SAT after two retakes and many practice tests. Needless to say, I'm quite happy with my score.
Nonetheless, there are a number of people in my class who tell me I should retake to try for 2400, since I missed the score by careless mistakes.
Should I honestly bother or is this competitive enough for prestigious schools?

my son only took the SAT once, he got 2340. he was told by his SAT prep teacher and many others that getting one or two questions correct on the SAT will not boost his acceptance. it is not worth it.

2360 is a great great score. There is no point in retaking it. You will not gain anything in your admissions with your retake.

I guess other than bragging rights there is no real point.

No, save your money. It really doesn’t matter.

Nope. When you’re over 2300, colleges stop looking at your SAT score and look more at your GPA, your application essay, and your extracirriculars.

I disagree. Study more and don’t make the stupid mistakes again. But don’t obsess over it. Just take it once more. A better score could be the difference between you and another applicant getting accepted…

Do not take it again! There is a point where the SAT score becomes meaningless, and colleges look at other factors.

Unless you will be making a big jump, taking the SAT too many times might actually look bad on your part. Colleges want you to be good in Math, Writing and Reading, and not good in taking the SAT.

You probably got your score because you made some careless mistakes, not because you didn’t have the knowledge.
