Any suggestions for my college list?

<p>The following colleges are the ones I am thinking of applying to:</p>

<p>Washington University – St. Louis
Cornell University
University of Florida
University of Rochester
Reed College
University of the Sciences
University of Washington
Stony Brook University</p>

<p>I am not sure about University of Florida, though. Does anyone have any opinions or helpful knowledge about this school?
Also, are there any other suggestions for schools I should be looking into based on my current list? </p>

<p>SAT: 2180 (670 R 760 M 750 W 12 E - will retake)
ACT: 31 ( 8 E )
EC's: Not much. Taught English to elementary students for three years (twice a week), worked at local restaurant during summers, varsity vball, habitat for humanity and some other minor activities.
Awards: Distinguished student award (school), College Prep Scholar</p>

<p>Background: Asian with US citizen, School that does not offer AP/IB and a lot of activities</p>

<p>Intended major: Biochemistry</p>

<p>Can you afford these schools? Are you expecting financial aid?</p>

<p>My family’s income is abt 50k so I will be applying for financial aid. </p>

<p>You should drop the out-of-state public schools. With a few exceptions, out-of-state public schools are not going to give substantial aid, and they are very expensive due to out-of-state tuition. For public schools, you need to look in your home state, or look at schools that give substantial merit aid that fits your stats, or look at the small number (e.g. UNC, UVa) that meet financial need.</p>
