Basically, I would like some suggestions on some good reach schools, match schools, and safety schools. I am hoping to get around a 30-32 on my next ACT in September. I really only have two schools that I want to apply to for sure, and those are NYU and UCSB. I am not interested in liberal arts colleges, no rural colleges, and I'm looking for larger schools (5,000+). I don't know if I'm being too picky with my choices, but I can't seem to find any other schools I really like. If it matters, I'm looking to major in Neuroscience/Biopsychology/Psychobiology and doing pre-med. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I've visited UCSB, UCLA, NYU, Columbia, and Colgate. I've ruled out UCLA, Columbia, and I didn't even want to visit Colgate in the first place; my sister goes there, so my parents made me take a tour when we went to visit her.

I live in California.

Try going to ■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■ and looking up the two colleges you’re interested in. It will then provide a list comparable schools that might be helpful in trying to identify other schools. Be sure to identify some match and safety schools. You might also try using college navigator. This search [College Navigator - Search Results](<a href=“College Navigator - Search Results”>College Navigator - Search Results) came up with 61 schools but it doesn’t account for your major.

I think University of Pittsburg is supposed to be very good for sciences. Maybe University of Rochester. George Washington. Maybe a large school in a medium sized town like University of Wisconsin.

Cost and financial aid considerations? Try the net price calculator on each school’s web site.

Be aware that NYU has a poor reputation for need-based financial aid, although it has a few merit scholarships.

Possible safety candidates would be the less selective UCs (e.g. SC, R, M), and CSUs other than SLO, if they look like sure admits after you check their admission profiles, if they are affordable, and you like them. The Alabama schools offering big merit scholarships for your stats are also safety candidates.

Some other schools to look at that are not too expensive for out of state include Minnesota, Virginia Tech, NCSU, and SUNY schools.

bradley univesity in IL around 5000+
two smaller schools less then 5000 more than 3000 bend your rules a little!
drake university and butler university (happy students)

also u of pittsburgh and drexel maybe good
