Any Theater Majors?

I know the program at Brandeis is strong, but does anyone know if the grad students dominate the shows or if there’s a chance for a undergrad to snag a role? And I’m big on musical theater which is not an option to study…could I still form a program for myself including voice? Any one just want to chat about Brandeis theater in general? :)

no, grad students do not dominate the roles in the shows because the undergraduate theater collective is entirely independent of the theater department and grad program. undegrads direct, produce, stage manage and act in the shows in addition to doing the scenery and lighting. see [utc.undergrad-theatre-collective

the brandeis theater company has shows that have mostly graduate students actors, who are guaranteed roles as part of their program, but undergrads can and do get good roles in them. see Brandeis</a> Theater Company | Brandeis University](<a href="http://people.brandeis.edu/%7Eutc/%5Dutc.undergrad-theatre-collective%5B/url">http://people.brandeis.edu/~utc/)</p>

i hope this helps.

You can also check out reviews of shows in one of the campus papers. As an audience member I found the recently performed Brighton Beach Memoirs, which also featured one of my friends, particularly impressive:
Players take a trip to 'Brighton Beach' - Arts
And here's a review of Thoroughly Modern Millie
Hillel Theatre Group stage well-loved musical to pleased audience - Theater
And Into the Woods:
Into the woods - Theater
There's usually between 1 and 2 musicals in a semester or a year. This semester one of them is Company, I forget if there's another one...

thanks so much! this really does help!
