For business ?

it's okay i guess. Better than most, worse than some.

My S has decent stats, 4.5(w), 15 of 575, 1450 / 2230.....not sure if he can get into the upper tier of business schools ( e.g. UVa, UPenn, UMich ) so I thought that G-Town and Emory might be worth looking into.

Why wouldn't your S be able to get into the upper tier, her SAT is higher than the average at all business schools I believe without the writing section included. Top 10% of class too. Is she lacking in other areas, EC's, easy classes?

you should also add stern to the list.

I think it's an awesome school for business. It can't NOT be awesome if it's ranked number 4 by businessweek. It has great recruitment and starting salaries are high. however, i could be a little biased because I'm going to be an Emorite next year ;)

BYU is also on the top 10 I believe, so I wouldn't put too much stock in that.

yeah i dont think those rankings are too accurate. your S seems to have pretty good stats so i'd suggest applying to umich, uva, and stern.

overrated

better off at Kelley (which is an auto-accept with those stats)

why dont you guys actually do research on byu and emory before commenting. Underrated seems more appropriate.

BYU and Emory are about 20 places behind other schools (BYU even more so) as far as recruiting goes. Underrated my ass.

proof is where? If you use ibanking as a measure, they are both well positioned in the industry. How many...cant remember, its finals week, so i will not be looking for it either.

yeah, byu and emory are definately just mediocre. prestige-wise, and well, everything-wise. sorry.
