sorry to bump an old thread, but i’m wondering how hard a math major really is.

if i got a 4 on the ap calc ab exam my junior year in high school and finished with an a in the class, but i struggled a little with the second semester of ap statistics, would it be possible to finish a math major with a respectable gpa? or can you not even predict this kind of success?

^^ If the 4 on AP Calculus AB was a reflection of your abilities truly, you need to revise the way you think about math. If it was just perchance, I’d not be so worried.

You really have to give it a shot and see how it goes. I’d be happy to answer any questions you have about math majors though.

^^^^I got a 4 on AP calc AB and got a math degree. I got better grades in proof based math than I did in calc for some reason. It depends on the person.
