Wanted to find out the Pro and Cons of SMU anyone??????

D had both SMU and Tulane on her short list. She was admitted into the Business Scholars Program at SMU's Cox School of business. She ultimatley decided to attend the Freeman School of Business at Tulane because she felt more comfortable there. D did overnight stays at both schools, which I highly recommend, and she felt that the students at Tulane were more friendly to her and were more down to earth. That was one of her determining factors, in addtion to a better scholarship offer from Tulane. Bottom line is that we all think that SMU is a very good school that features a tremendous faculty and an absolutley beautiful campus. I guess you should consider schools that not only meet you requirements but "feel" good to you,

Thanks BpFrench....any others?

I don't actually go to this university, but I live in Dallas and have many friends that attend SMU.

Pro:
1. campus is beautiful
2. great academics (especially: business and law)
3. located in the middle of dallas, so there is much to do
4. they offer a lot of scholarships, grants, and work study

Con:
1. VERY EXPENSIVE! (around $40,000-$45,000 a year for in state student)
For a Texas school this is a lot to pay a year. You can go to UT or A&M which are
ranked much higher than SMU on US News for less than half the price.

Just got accepted early action to SMU; anyone know when they let you know about merit scholarships?

I think you hear about merit scholarships starting on January 15, 2008.
