Yale Daily News - Early morning shots fired near campus

not surprising.

omg, is the surrounding area of yale like really dangerous?! =/

It happens. It's an urban area. You'll be more or less safe as a student.

I would tend to think so, but if you read the article it says that a Yale student had to duck in an alley to run for cover when the shots were fired.

You will be safe if you use common sense. don't walk around alone at night. if you are leaving somewhere that late, call the security escort service.I have never personally felt unsafe in New Haven, but i am also never out at 2 am. a lot of people are, but the people i know are always in groups and are smart about it.

WE SHOULD BAN ALL GUNS ON CAMPUS AND IN THE AREAS AROUND YALE.

THAT'LL SHOW THOSE IRRESPONSIBLE AND CRIMINAL TYPES WHAT'S WHAT!

I'm pretty sure that it's a reasonably poor decision to be out and about in a sparsely populated (there aren't 50 people/traffic) but urban (poor) area at 2 AM.
