My son took both the SAT and the ACT and according to the concordance tables has essentially the exact same score on each.
Anyone in a similar situation try prepping for both? Was one test easier to improve the score than another? My gut is saying ACT because for the SAT, he had already taken the PSAT twice and was more familiar with the format . . .
But definitely open to hearing alternative perspectives . . .
What were his subscores? Which did he say he felt more comfortable with?
So much subjective here … which does the student feel more comfortable with? What were subscores, etc? What is objective? Ivy schools? Merit scholarships? What schools? Do the schools super score either or both?
Frankly - the last one may be the most relevant with a student testing about the same on both. More schools tend to super score the SAT. So check that too.
Thanks so much for chiming in. He preferred taking the ACT, so he decided to focus on prepping for that.
Fortunately, we are not talking about Ivies or scholarships. He is just hoping to be accepted to schools along the lines of Tulane or Boston University. His scores do need to come up for that to be likely, but he has some safeties identified.
He is in the 1200/26 range (without writing) n the testing with very even sub scores except science where he had a 28.
