It's hard for me to start on homework and stuff as soon as I can. I always tend to push it off and then I get really stressed out because I don't have enough time to do it. I know everyone procrastinates, but I'm just suddenly really tired of this habit. Do you guys have any tips to help me focus?

Develop a habit for after school. Clubs/sports first, come home, chillax a bit, maybe do some easy hw, eatdinner and do chores, finish hw, chill before going to sleep.

^ That's good advice. I get home, eat lunch, watch TV or something for 30-60 minutes and then do my homework. And I start with my easy homework and stuff I don't mind doing, then I get to the more difficult stuff at the end so I can focus on that. It's especially good when you have to study for a test to get everything else out of the way. Also, try to set a curfew (I'm in bed by 10) so that you'll have a schedule.

don't stress over your homework too much for the first few weeks. You'll find that you'll be able to complete your homework a lot more consistently if you relax, and frequently take breaks when the work becomes too exhausting.

just reward urself
like do 10 problems then have a cookie
ur teachers arent too motivating to do ur hw earlier or something lol?

I recommend turning off any instant messaging programs or internet browsers when you sit down to do homework. If you need the internet, just open the browser when you need it. I used to try to do homework with an away message on AIM... but I would spend time checking my messages and going back on to chat. Very unproductive.

chickenboi's suggestion sounds kind of silly, but I really think it's worth considering. Sometimes I'll do a math problem, get bored... do something else... do another math problem... do something else... So I've tried this and it works: I told myself, "Come on, you're being lazy. I know you want a chocolate bar that's sitting in the kitchen, but you can't go get it until you've finished 10 problems." And it works!!

I agree with having a general schedule. Make sure that when it's "homework time", you minimize distractions by turning off AIM as I said above, or turning off the TV.

good one celestial...I do the exact same thing with my AIM. I spend WAY too much time chatting (and checking my facebook, myspace, and 4 e-mails...)
