Hey all,
I was just wondering anyone had some tips for the English section. I've taken practice tests and one real ACT, and the English consistently brings my composite down. I somehow always miss between 6-10 on each English test.
Other than taking numerous practice tests, what else does everyone do to prepare for this section?

I know this is going back to like 3rd grade basics but i've found it works for me. I always try to say the 2 or 3 answers that im not sure about under my breath and it actually helps a lot.

It helps to physically cross stuff out that you know is incorrect so you don't waste time relooking at them.

is it true that almost all of the passive sentences and present/past perfect tense are wrong?

I got a 36 on the English. My advice is that you take a lot of practice tests with it. I took about 6 and the highest I ever got was a 33 on the English, but come test day, a lot of the same types of questions are repeated and the practice payed off.

can someone summarize some basic rules please? thank you

There's a lot of basic rules. Just go on sparknotes.
