Any tips on to get off a waitlist?

I was waitlisted by Brigham Young University and University of Minnesota recently.

I'm sending in my semester grades next week and I also wrote letters of interest to both schools. In addition I'm also getting recommendations for Minnesota (BYU doesn't take any). My semester grades are also an improvement over recent grades with a 3.67 last term and most likely a 4.0 this term.

So any other tips? Any anybody have an idea on the likelihood of getting accepted of the waitlist at either of these schools? Any clue when decisions are made for either?

Thanks for the time!

Wow, this is the first time I've seen BYU mentioned on CC. Haha. My HS sends tons of kids there each year (it's like 5 minutes away).

I dunno about their waitlist, but they typically notify you of their decision about a month after you submit your app.

Well BYU said at the latest it would be March 15th and Minnesota was April 1st.

I was sort of wondering if decisions were made before or if they made usually around that week or so

Sit and have fun and hope that the 10% chance ull get in

Thanks for reassurance, but somehow I believe that these schools have large amounts accepted off the waitlist because of the large amount of students that go to each of these schools.

These schools aren't exactly like Ivy's where accepting 10% or less off the waitlist is the norm.

Ohh i thought it was in general.... im not a big fan of early action. neither am i for regular action. I hate the waiting got college anyway haha

bump............
