Any Transfer Applicant to Harvard!

I applied to Harvard as a transfer student..I am currently sophomore student...My HS GPA is 4.0, college GPA is 3.91, lota EC in college including leadership, recoms should be great, essays are related to my hook..I was just wondering how a low ACT score can effect my application?..Btw i am applying to junior year..shouldn't the test scores be considered less since I have in college for two years? I appreciate your comments

P.S.: a friend of mine got into Harvard from our school, he is also international student.

Other Transfer students please post your profiles and threads here!!

bumpty bump

yeah, ACT score shouldnt matter much for a junior transfer....I got into Stanford and UPENN and I have pretty average SAT scores and I am a junior transfer....

LOL what are average scores on this world of CC? Like a 1500?

lol...cardinalfocussed

i got a 1340 on my SAT and am only a sophmore applicant and i just got in. don't sweat it.

u got into harvard?

indeed i did

WOW....Congrats

did u also get into like duke, columbia, brown, etc...?

bows to For Shaganov great job! Were you the only one on the entire forum?

haha no! i think there were some others over on the "official harvard" thread. a lot of people were wait listed, i think. I also had Cs the majority of my time in high school, and I'm positive that my recs, essay (especially the Why Harvard one) and my interview were what got me in. But thank you guys! I didn't apply to any of those schools you mentioned bball, but I did get in to Georgetown, Barnard and Wellesley. In an absolute reversal of the system, I was rejected from Tufts and waitlisted at BC. Bizzare. I think it's because I didn't really want to go to Tufts or BC and they could tell? Whatever it was, it doesn't really bother me. Bball, where are you going to be? Columbia, yes?

sadly, i am on the waitlist for both Columbia and Duke, both of which took around the same or lower than harvard.....sigh....

in at wustl, rice, and u of chicago as of now

ru going to wustl first semester?

yes i am, and it'll be absolutely free for me because my mother works there, so money for boston in january! are you campaigning to get off either wait list? i bet you'll get in to one of the two, you so deserve to

lol whaaaattt??!?!?!? I just got waitlisted at BC too...oh man I should have applied to harvard!! (only kidding of course) Well, congratulations on Harvard, and I guess I'll be happy one less person will accept a position on the BC waitlist!! haha, is anyone else completely baffled by this year's decisions?

For Shaganov, why would you be going to wustl first semester?

FRED: Where are you transferring from?

Because I'd much rather go to WashU (for free, as well) than pay to go back to that hellhole that is UVM. I was admitted to WashU, so I'll just take them up on their offer of admission and then I guess, in a sense, "transfer out" to Harvard, only I've already gotten in to Harvard. Its sort of convoluted, I wish I was going to Harvard in the fall and I'm going to ask my transfer advisor if I could be called if anyone declines their place for fall or asks to be put in spring semester. But seriously, I'm not really complaining about much right now. Three more months at home is... not really a big deal

for shaganov u cud do an internship in the fall...

I was thinking study abroad on WashU's dime. It would take a lot of luck for that to work out, but if I could spend a semester in London and then go off to Harvard... swoon.... I think I would die happy

WashU's tuition benefit is only good for 8 consecutive semesters (they pay full tuition for me to go to WashU and half tuition for me to go anywhere else) so I can't take time off. I'd like to, though...

hmmm..depending on ur major I'll say u do one of those dc internships- u can still apply for one run by the washington internship institute and although u have to pay tuition, it costs about $7,000- washu shud be able to cover the costs-
