Any transfer students out there?

No Go, everyone…

derekallen2009 - is that a transfer rejection? were you a freshman transferring in as a sophomore?

I have about 40 hours that transfer. I’m an external transfer as well.

You got rejected from gen studies too?

Yep. I talked to a advisor in Mays and he couldn’t even think of a good reason why I wasn’t accepted. My GPR there would be a 3.86. It’s crazy. I’m thinking I’m going to apply for Economics in the Spring though.

I talked to a advisor today in Econ and she said that there are only 400 Econ majors in all of TAMU. If you have a 3.0, you are probably going to get in and that Top Econ grads are offered jobs in business, consulting and in government and policy. But those Econ grads are usually somewhere in the 3.7 and up range.

And for anyone interested, the business minor courses are taught with like 200 kids in the lower division courses and with like 75 in the upper division courses, but they are taught by business faculty and in Mays.

What do ull think of my chances i have a 3.33 gpa with 27 hours done, u think i can get in to the general studies program.

I know someone that had a 3.8 on 27hours that was declined :(

For general studies you need a minimum of 28 hours to be accepted, thats probably why the person you knew was not accepted :/

my ais went to step 4 today.

Cool. I’m just waiting still.

I remember for my first step 4, there was a little tab under the Step 4 on the AIS itself that allowed me to view the decision online. Give that a check!

haha ive been checking it all morning. Right now it doesnt say a decision either way, it just says we will inform you of the decision. Hopefully it’ll get posted soon.

Well good luck man! Hope you make it in.

I hope to hear back this week so I’ll be able to drop the classes I am currently in and not take a W

thanks! good luck to you too.

On saturday i checked and mine moved from step 3 to step 4–but it says it was mailed on 2/22/2010 (which is when I applied but didnt have enough hours and they told me to resubmit my grades after the spring semester)–this happen to anyone else?

Yeah that happened to me.

You need to resubmit the most recent term grades to A&M before June 1st to be reconsidered for Fall 2010 :|

i did–what I meant was that back in Feb when I applied with like 23 hours my decision was mailed on the 2/22/2010. I send in my spring grades and they reopened my file (which changed my AIS to step 3) – I am just confused that either my new decision has been made and they plugged the wrong date into the system -or if there was an error in the system and my decision hasn’t been made yet.

Yeah, they have processed those recent transcripts and are re-evaluating us. That is why it has reverted back to step 3.

I’m in the same boat!

The thing is that I am on step 4 again-but it says a decision was mailed but on 2/22/2010–

I woke up this morning and it now says a decision was mailed 6/8/2010…

keep us posted as to if the step 5 comes up today - good luck!
