I know of 3 of my daughters friends who were admitted transfer students on Tuesday June 15th… thats pretty recent :)

yea… that was only a few days ago… sigh, ill keep my fingers crossed for next week then

No updates today. I think General Studies has a big amount of applications to look through because some of these other folks might have been accepted for different schools.

@bhthx1-- yea, that may be true…I didnt really think about it like that

My daughter’s friend sadly got a rejection on Friday. She is considering appealing, as she has heard of people with lower grades getting accepted. She was trying to get into communications I think. I have heard of a few kids winning appeals of freshman rejection, but not transfer. Has anyone heard of someone getting in as transfer on appeal?

I am not familiar with the appeals process but I am sorry to hear that :(

Well it is another week hopefully some of us will hear something now!

@bhthx1-- I hope so… I really need to know something by the end of this month. I would be so upset if they put me through all these months just to deny me, because I’ve made so many plans so far. sigh

admission letter sent this morning you guys… sigh, i thought i was nervous before… my stomach is actually twisting up inside of me when I saw a decision had been made. But now i have to wait for a letter…sigh

Yep. Same thing here, moved to step 4 sometime today. Good luck nbeezy!

Good luck to you to bhthx1!! Our info must have been right by each others lol! I guess this torturous wait will soon be over sometime next mid-week, if not sooner!

YAY!!! i think i’ve been accepted! I remember someone one here saying that while they were waiting for there letter to arrive they checked there Howdy and they had a new tab to register for classes… well a Myrecords tab just came up for me this morning :)

Yep, I have a new My Records tab in the Howdy Portal and it shows that I am a sophomore with 34 hours that transferred in.

Great to be in finally, but I looked through classes and wow a bunch of stuff is already full. I worry about housing as well now too.

Yea, it really does… and how cool we found out on the same day! I just freaked out over financial aide… but I can make it work. I been trying to find how to register for classes but I’m not sure how yet. And im moving into some off campus apartments that right by the campus… rent is cheap bcuz of specials and all I have to pay is electric and they come furnished and all…

Now, I just have to keep my fingers crossed about my boyfriend also making it into aTm… he’s still waiting :(

I’m pretty sure that you have to attend a Transfer conference in order to register, unless you have been on Blinn Team, in which case you are already considered a student, therefore do not have to attend one. Since you just now have a My Records Tab, then I assume you must be transferring from another institution, and will have to attend.

oh my, Im not gonna be able to get in any classes at this rate… they are already basically full… Hopefully the professors will understand and let me enroll :/

Hopefully we’ll be able to squeeze into some classes. That worries me tremendously. Other than that, it is great to be in!

Yea it’s great! i just called and talked to admissions and they said we couldnt enroll until we went to a transfer NSC, and at that time an admission counselor we be able to help us get into classes since they all appear full as of now.

So like at UT, to transfer into COLA, the rule of thumb is to have at least a 3.5, is there a min gpa for general studies? I want to apply for gen studies for spring '11.

I’m not sure azim. :(

Nbeezy, just curious have you moved to Step 5 yet? Or received anything in the mail?

I have a friend that just got rejected with a 4.0 from a CC! D: Wtefff is wrong with A&M?
