Any transfer students out there?

Any transfer students out there that can help me?

I applied as a freshman this past year to A&M, but was not accepted. When I found out, I decided to take summer classes at Midland College and try to transfer into the Spring term. I Already had 15 hours from dual credit classes in high school, and I am about to finish up my 9 hours I’ve been taking this summer. I’ll then have the minimum 24 hours required. So far I have a 4.0, and every one of my classes will transfer towards my selected major. I’m trying to get into the College of Liberal Arts, and major in Psychology. I also plan on getting a Bachelor of Science instead of Art. I just applied this past Monday, and sent in essay A and C. Though, I feel pretty good about getting in, I’m just nervous since I’ve already been reject there twice. Once in March saying I didn’t get in, and the other time telling me I didn’t get Blinn Team and that I didn’t get through on the waiting list. So if anyone knows more about how this works or what my chances are, please let me know! I’d very, very much appreciate the feedback.

Well the good thing is you have applied pretty early on. With your grades and hours you will be looked at, but I can not really say whether or not you will be accepted of course. That’s up to admissions! (4.0 is really awesome to have)

I applied with a 4.0 on 37 hours, and ended up getting knocked down to 27 hours from stuff they actually took. You can apply with the credits have now but if they decline you get your latest class work to them ASAP. Did you indicate general studies as your second major choice? Just in case you do not make it into the College of Liberal Arts.

Honestly the way I see your application is right at the bare minimum hours required, BUT you instead of waiting around to fall to start school you got right on it in the summer (And you have all A’s.) That looks great, but I fear you’ll have competition from folks that have already done a year of college and could have 10-15 more hours than you. But I honestly wouldn’t worry about that, especially if you plan on taking a 12-15 hour Fall semester. You can apply with the current hours you have now and like I said if you can get that fall transcript from your current college to them as fast as humanly possible because any new hours, especially if they’re all A’s will look great.

That is what I think. Maybe some other folks would think of it differently.

Thank you for your input! We’ve actually been getting help from a lady at admissions, and she made sure that all my hours would transfer in. She also told me I should go ahead and apply. Which I have. And I will be taking 17 hours this fall. I’ve just been doing basics like English, U.S. History, psychology. Everything that can transfer.

She also told me to put sociology as my second choice, because they’d automatically put me in general studies if I did even get in there. Hopefully that’s the truth.

Thank you for the help! I’ll be sure to get them my grades as soon as possible! Which will hopefully be in the next week.

Does anyone know how competitive the College of Liberal Arts is?

So, my whole application showed up as being completely processed this past Monday. I know it varies to when you will find it, and they’re also dealing with the Freshmen applications so this slows them down. But does anyone know about how long it takes until you find out? I assume before the October 15 deadline, but I really don’t know.
