Any transfers apply late?

oh yeah, I knew that. Mine says it was last updated on the 6th. I check it throughout the day just to see if anything was updated, but nothing really changes. So maybe it will update soon with a response or not.

Lol seriously? That’s weird.

Mine is typically updated daily, but for some reason, it didn’t yesterday and its still stuck on the 9th. I’m wondering why you’re still on the 6th?

well thats when i called about my high school transcript if they received it or not, and i guess they updated it saying they recieved everything on the 6th.

maybe it just updates when they receive your information and such ya know? Lol.

Maybe, but I don’t think so.

All of my stuff was received two weeks ago and yet, it updated every day last week.

I’m thinking that maybe it’s an indication that our applications are ready for or under review.

I hope they are finally being reviewed lol. Well mine was like this before though, with the long updating. It said it was updated on 4/27 and nothing changed till i called on the 6th and then it updated.

They prob just hate me and like to keep me guessing lol.

u wont find out till at least 2 months after all ur stuff is in at the earliest

That makes complete sense, nike ._.

seriously? 2 months?

No, he doesn’t know anything. He’s just messing with us because he probably got rejected and had to go to Montclair -.-

actually I do know since I was accepted in April after applying in February and know many people who applied as transfers at different times and none hear back until at least 2 months at the earliest as most people due because it’s a long process I was just letting you know, don’t have to be a stuck up snob about it

Lol relax.

RU makes it clear that all who applied prior to the priority application date (2/1) may not receive an answer until 4/15, however, that does not apply to people who applied after, whom are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. The process is much faster with a lower volume of applicants to sort through (post-notification & candidate reply dates).

I spoke with the director of admissions about this over the phone… I think she knows what she’s talking about. Of course, we discussed that in previous responses in this thread.

Yeah, that’s what i think. That this process would go faster since the number of students applying would be less than it would be in Feb-April. So i feel as though we should know between the end of may and mid-june. Maybe, Just positive thinking Lol.

Not to sound whiney or like I’m lacking patience, but I got accepted to the University of Arizona today and if Rutgers doesn’t answer soon, I’m going.

The only real downside to UA compared to Rutgers (at least for Geology) is cost… and for the quality of education, I’m thinking it may be worth it.

University of Arizona is nowhere near rutgers in terms of quality of education

UA

rutgers

hang in there. You still got a chance.

I understand that these are graduate school rankings, but common sense yields that Arizona’s department is better than Rutgers’.

[Best Geology Programs | Top Earth Science Schools | US News Best Graduate Schools](http://grad-schools.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/best-graduate-schools/top-science-schools/geology-rankings)

Just because a generic ranking states that one university is better than another doesn’t mean that it tells the whole story.

For example, Rutgers-Newark is miles better than Rutgers-New Brunswick for Criminal Justice.

I know Rutgers is a great school. I’m a New Jersian…

…But for things like Geology and Astronomy, it pales in comparison to Arizona.

You cannot tell me there are going to be better research opportunities or more oil companies recruiting at RU. It’s just not true lol.

Think about the cost. RU will cost you a lot less.

Cost is a non-issue.

The only things that draw me to RU are the distance from home and the overall reputability. I dislike New Brunswick and there really is nothing that stands out to me.

…Actually, if I were to come home every week or every other weekend, I’d probably eclipse the cost of flights to Arizona several times over (not to mention car insurance).

From the academic and lifestyle perspectives, I don’t think there’s a school that I could get into that tops Arizona.

Why should I go to a school just because it’s cheaper?

I’m a firm believer in “you get what you pay for”.

Next, you know there are plenty of students who graduated from ivy league universities engulfed with student loans while making 30-40 k a year right?

Your tone suggest that you hate everything about rutgers. Don’t blame rutgers for making you wait so long because you applied LATE. If you want to go to Arizona then go. You sound like one of those annoying NJ an who don’t appreciate that there is an affordable and reputable state university that you could go to. I know plenty of annoying people who often say " I just want to get out of jersey bla bla bla…"

I don’t know what your stats are but getting into arizona is easier than getting into RU. And I am sure there are plenty of schools that top Arizona and Rutgers is just one of them. You can say all you want about Arizona having better geology program but in general Rutgers are known to be better.
