Hey I was wondering if anybody here is entering as a transfer for the fall 2010.

Marice,

I kind of asked this on the last thread, but I’ll just ask again: could you post your stats as a transfer applicant? (btw are you transferring as a sophomore or junior?)

I’m asking because I am considering a transfer to WC in the future, but from what I’ve heard, the transfer process is very subjective.

Im sorry, I just saw your post, I forget to check my posts a lot of times. Im transfering this fall 2010 as a sophmore, or junior. They took 12.4 units which i dont know what that means. I transfered from a community college with a 3.8 GPA, I did not send in my ACTS because I never took them, but I dont recommend you to do this. Currently, I am an International Relations major, but I know I will change to political science at Wellesley. I graduated with an Associates in Arts with 79 credits. While in college, I had a senate internship, and I also had 500 hours of community service. My essay wwas very small(two paragraphs) so I dont think that influenced a lot. Let me know if you have any more questions, I really dont know what else to tell you that can help. You got waitlisted for fall 2010? I really hope you get accepted;)

Yeah, I was waitlisted, but basically, I’ve heard that at this point, the class of 2014 is “quite full” so that chances that I’ll be accepted are really slim. I was kind of upset because WC was my top choice and I thought that I had a good chance-- I have a 2330 SAT, 700+ on all my SAT II’s, 4.5 GPA, 200 hrs community service, leadership role in a competitive team, National Merit Finalist, and I play violin.

I’m considering a transfer in the future, but I’m not sure how much I should get my hopes up because from what I’ve heard, applying as a transfer might be even more competitive and WC seems to care more about subjective personal details/stories than objective achievement.

How was your interview (since interviews are required of transfers)? And if you could share any other info. on the application process, that would be much appreciated.

I answered all of this in a private message. Read your inbox;)

12.4 units works out to 3 semesters of classwork. You would be a second semester sophomore.

Hi,
I will be entering as a sophomore transfer in the fall!

Ummmm…
yoohoo, aren’t you transferring to Smith?

Well I also applied to Smith, but I chose Wellesley.

yoohoo, where did you transfer from? And could you post your stats?
