Any transfers on here?

Hey guys, I wanted to see if any other transfers got accepted/ denied and what your stats were. Anyone?

Hey, I was a freshman spring transfer so I’m not sure if I’ll be of much help BUT I do want to give a warning. A lot of my friends are transfers either sophomore or junior transfers and for most of the people I’ve met Pepperdine kind of screwed them over with credits. There’s a lot of GEs at Pepperdine and if you’re considered a junior in a previous school you might even be considered a sophomore here because of all those unmet GEs. I love Pepperdine so I’m not saying this to discourage you but a lot of transfers wish they had known this before coming here. That being said, it is possible of catching up on credits but you’ll almost be positive you’ll have to do summer school there.

Hey.
I was an accepted Int’l transfer from Canada. I’m currently a Sophomore at Uni here, so I would be transferring into Junior year.

My University stats were about a 3.6 GPA ~ ( converted from a different scale (not 4.0), and not curved), mostly in pre-business and math courses, with some electives.

My essays were really good. Although I am not religious, I talked about my community involvement and having grown up in a small town for the main supplemental essay.

I also co-founded a provincial wide group in Canada who’s focus was incorporating the culture of a minority group into high schools. ( I am Caucasian myself though.)

I had an impressive sports record, mainly during high school, where I won multiple Provincial MVP awards (Soccer and Baseball). Also, I participated in volunteer work throughout my first 2 years of University.

In high school I had about a 3.8 GPA (again different scale and different weighting then in the US, but the 3.8 is my best converted guess.). Graduated in top 10-15% of class (out of 150). Had decent EC’s and community work.

I haven’t heard about how my credits will transfer yet. But like llopez19 said above, I may get screwed over because of the GE’s. That will probably heavily influence my decision to attend. We will see! As an international student I wouldn’t be getting FA, so paying for more then 2 years worth of courses would be tough.

Gratz on the acceptance!

The Graphic released stats for transfer admissions prior to the close of spring semester–the average transfer GPA is 3.6

I would tell you NOT to rely on graphics released by university as at least with regard to Grant Aid and loans taken by students they are inexcusably deceptive. For a religious school it’s funny how many things they sweep under the carpet and the way they present things to allow for maximum misunderstanding.

Hi I’m a fall transfer from a community college! Gpa is about a 3.4 and I am a communications major.

is anybody considering to transfer for spring 2013?

I am. Are you?

Hey I am transferring to Pepperdine for Spring 2013 and I was wondering if anyone else was also doing the same?

i submitted my spring transfer app :)

Same! Hope we get in! what year would you be considered?

im still a freshman so 2016? and i really hope so too :)

Hey! Yes, I was accepted as a 2013 spring transfer. Just waiting on finaid though…

Oh wow CONGRATS!! when did you get your acceptance?! i thought we were all notified 11/15 but i guess not hehe

Thanks! I was notified on the 24th of this month. I’m surprised that everyone wasn’t notified at the same time. Good luck!

Congrats! I’m still waiting on mine. I’d be a second semester sophomore or first year junior… not sure which classes will transfer or not. So nervous! Which class would you be in, and how early did you submit your application?

I’m in the same boat as you are. I have 59 college units, but it depends on how many of them transfer. I sent my application on September 21st.

Is Pepperdine your top choice? They said by the 15th, so maybe they’re rolling some or just releasing them at different times?

Yes, Pepperdine is my first choice. Yeah they could possibly be doing it that way. I think it’s strange though. From what I’ve read on this board, people usually find out at the same time. But hey, I’m not complaining.

We found out at the same time last year, so who knows? I didn’t apply for spring though so maybe it’s different.
