any transfers taking summer?

any there transfers on here that are going to attend ucsb in the fall are are going to get an early start in the summer?

i will be attending session b

i want to attend session d but it doesn't look like the class i have to take offers it session D, only A, not sure i want to be there 6 week from late june to august . Plus i might get lazy over summer even though i was in summer school at my cc all of last year.

I am going to session B also

well im mostly doing it for the summer transitions program for transfers to help make my transition easier for fall 08. I would've taken session A but it interferes with finals week for this spring quarter for my cc

so i guess you'll have like a week or two to move your stuff back home and back to sb before fall, or you might keep it there somewhere

i read somewhere that they will tell you your new room /apt or whatever early if you are down there for summer school

If I'm not accepted to UCI, I plan on attending UCSB and attending the summer transitions program.

so what classes are you guys planning to take?

How many classes to people normally take per session? 2? Im really not sure what i'm going to take because I really don't have any classes to take for my pre -major and i'm not sure if I can start taking upper division? I guess they will answer this question for me on May 16 on spotlight for summer for transfers

im planning on taking two and im going to the insight on the 16th as well....do you guys know where your going to live down there it sounds like its either san miguel or santa ynez...

Im probably gona live in Santa Ynez apartments because the cost is a lot less compared to the San Miguel residence hall. I'm not sure when we get to choose our hosuing or how the roommate situation is going to work

i took a peek at the housing application for summer and it looks like you can choose 2 bdrm apt 4 occpants etc or res hall double occupancy and you can enter roommate info there also...i was looking at the regular housing app for the fall and it doesnt look like you can pick which res. hall's you would like to live in but you can rank apt's in the order you want...i guess its because everyone would want to live in manzanita lol

Yeah I just filled out my summer housing application now. I chose 2 bedroom 4occupants.

I also filled out my fall housing application and there was so section to rank in the order you want. Just 1st choice and 2nd choice for housing type. I think they will let you choose later after the deadline date.

yeah hopefully, i wouldnt really want to end up in a dorm full of brand new freshman.

i'm only going to probably take one class if i end up going to sb and attend summer, my cc didn't offer any of the pre req for the major so there is 3 more classes i have to take before i can declare the major. But sbcc had all the classes but couldn't afford to live and go there. I sometimes tend to get lazy in the summer and already have seen the work course for the class so not sure if i will want to take summer. although i will get used to the campus when there are a lot of people but not sure if it gets boring during the summer, even with the beach. Also why there are only offering san mig as the only residence dorm for summer and some off campus apartments? i thought the residence dorms would be cheaper but i guess they might be more expensive because of the meal plan? And i think the class i need to take only offers it on session A, which i guess is fine if you want to start summer in june until august with a little break before fall. So the may 16 thing is only for if your going to take summer right? I'll probably put manzanita as my first choice for fall too.

yeah my friend who goes to SB said that manzanita is the place to be they make your beds..its close to the school and its close to IV.

yeah manzanita and san raf i think are on the other side of campus while the rest of the dorms except ft are together one the other side, hopefully its still as social as the other ones.

from what ive heard san raf. is almost exclusively juniors and seniors where manzanita is about 1/3 freshman

well i prefer the rooms at mazanita over the suite style of san raf for some reason, the picture of manzanita on the school site looks like a big room but someone on here said they are small, whoever went to the spring insight, did anyone see the rooms at manzanita?
