Any transfer students wanna discuss their threads!!...please go ahead!

i am a community college student in southern california. I want to major in political science and I want to transfer to Harvard! I have a high GPA and I was wondering what I would need to get in. In addition how hard is it to transfer there in general? am i screwed?

Transferring from a community college is pretty difficult in general. WindCloudUltra, for example, just transferred from another tier one school while Hanna, an alumna, transferred to Harvard from Bryn Mawr. Most others come from four-year universities. Although your GPA in community college may have been great, the transfer admissions committee still looks at your high school record and asks you to submit your SAT I scores (SAT II scores are highly recommended and 99% of the students who are accepted have SAT II scores). The freshman applicant pool admit rate hovers around 9% whereas the transfer applicant pool admit rate hovers around 5%, so it is more difficult to get in. But again, you never know until you try.

The transfer accept rate last year was 8.8%, or 85/964. Harvard accepts about 75/1000 each year. Hard but not impossible. Your GPA should be as high as possible.
