i'm at uci right now and i applied as a junior to ucb, ucla, ucsd and ucsb. so far i got into ucsb but i'm wondering if anyone heard anything from ucsd yet.

I am at UCD now, applied only to cal. we will find out in 2 weeks

i'm at UCR...
business econ major
UCSB accepted
UCLA, UCSD, UCI pending...

hallwayangel what are your stats if you don't mind? =]

-3.452 total uc gpa, 4.0 major gpa (although i doubt major gpa matters)
-will have 98 quarter units by the end of spring 05
-sociology
-ecs: a cultural club officer on campus, started up a public issues discussion within it that i run weekly, community service, ethnic music performances... and i tutor and work a lot...
-not that amazing in terms of course work... don't have ge requirement out of the way and i recently changed my major from english to sociology so major prep ain't that great either

i realize i'm quite the average kind of student, possibly much below the applicant candidacy level. i'm surprised ucsb even accepted me, now that i've looked at some of the ccc people's stats.

chances are low, but i suppose it's only fair to give the ccc students priority since i'm already secured a place at my current school.

but still... i really want out... hehehe.

does anyone know how much ucs look at personal statements and non-academic factors?

hallwayangel, check out this link. it tells you which colleges look at your essays. i don't know how accurate this is.
http://www.ucop.edu/sas/ets/Referen...Matrix03_04.pdf

i'm also at UCR, i've been accepted to UCSB as a political science major and am still pending for UCLA.

hallwayangel, i just realized my link did not work. try this link if you're interested.

did anyone hear anything from UCSD yet?

someone posted in the other thread that ucsd's gonna release decisions on the 16th (tomorrow) and the 29th.

i'm guessing the majority of acceptees tomorrow will be cc transfers because ucsd admits inter-uc transfers on the basis of space... which i assume means that we'll probably be pending until the bitter last day... i predict i'll be hearing from ucla, berkeley and ucsd around the same time.

good luck everyone!

oh and i forgot to thank you for your help kenshin! it sucks, though, that most of them don't look at personal statements. :(

I'm at UCR too and I'm applying to UCLA, UCB, UCSD, and UCI. I have a 3.67 as a biology major.

i thought this was nifty

it shows admit stats for fall 2004

no problem hallwayangel
well some colleges read the essay... which college are you hoping to get in?

i really only care for ucsd. if i don't get in there, i'll most likely stay at uci. it's not that i don't like uci... ucsd was always my dream school is all.

wahoo! i got accepted to ucsd today

yay me too!!

which college did you get into kenshin? i'm in muir.

i'm at roosevelt. sigh... i have quite a few GEs to complete if i go to ucsd but i guess it's worth it.

yeah i was thinking about that too. i haven't talked to any counselor about it yet, but i'm assuming some classes we've taken will transfer over to fulfill some of the GE requirements... at least i hope that's the case. if i had been wiser and better prepared, i would have looked into the uc reciprocity agreement... buuuut i'm about 3 classes short now of finishing my GEs off here at uci... so i guess we're in the same boat since roosevelt isn't included in that agreement.

sigh i hope so
