Any UC to UC Transfers in here?

do you guys think it's possible to transfer from a CSU TO UC?

for example, pomona-landscape architect major to UCLA,UCB, UCD, UCSD?

how long do i have to wait? can i transfer after the first year and enter as a sophomore?

it's possible, but i'm sure it'll require a lot of work on your part. i think uc to uc is one thing, but ever so rarely do we hear csu to uc. but don't give up if you're really up for it. i say you go to each of the schools' websites and see what their minimum requirements are and exceed them like hell... while maintaining a really good gpa. most schools, however, accept upper division only (or at least they prefer it). which means... you'll need something like 60 units minimum to even be considered. if you're a high schooler right now, you'll probably fare better going to cc for two years and transfering for your major. you should also check if your major is impacted or not at the various schools.

you could always pray for a miracle like i did. :) good luck!

I'm at UCR just got into ucsd. I'm a bio major with a 3.67

are you guys going to ucsd's transfer admit day? i'm gonna go to find out which courses transfer over to fulfill requirements... i realized that our curricula don't exactly line up.

anyway, it seems like we intercampus people (at least the ones who posted in this thread) who applied to ucsd all got accepted. that's really strange because ucsd says that they only accept people like us if space permits... weird.

jgeng03 you got PM

hallwayangel: hhmmm
what if the major is impacted? whats your point? you think it'll be easier to transfer to non-impacted major then?

im already in landscape architect. but i want to go to archtiect. Is it easier to switch majors or CC transfer?

where can i check this requirments btw?

vyan,

i went to san jose state my first year of college and regretted it a lot. so for my second year i went to a CC. i'm finishing up my second and last semester there and i've been accepted to uci, ucd, ucsb, and cal poly. lets just say that if i had stayed at san jose state, i wouldn't have been able to go to these schools. well maybe just it's very very hard as the GE patterns are different

you got PM ichiban

i know huh, hallwayangel. i agree it was weird how we got accepted but maybe they were just scaring us. my friend got in political science with a 3.4 from UCR. i'm going to transfer admit day at ucsd. they tell us which courses fulfill requirements there?

vyan, why not just go to mt. sac instead of csu pomona, since it's right next to each other?

i'm assuming they'll have some sort of academic advising there... under "Academic Department Sessions."

hallwayangel, is UCSD your first choice?

yep. well... i want to figure out first how long it will take me to graduate if i do transfer. i have my heart set on going as of now though.

Did any of you lovely UC to UC people hear from any other UCs? We need an update! I'm still waiting on Cal and I only applied there.. so no new news for me until the 29th!!

Hey! I got to UCLA today!!
Trasferring from UCSB with 3.86 GPA in biology...

ooooooh!!! congratulations!!!!!

i'm still pending for ucla, but i'm going to ucsd anyway... so i guess it's okay. actually, my parents will probably try to get me to go to ucla if i end up getting in (which i doubt), so i'm hoping i get rejected. getting accepted would be a real ego-booster though!

got into Cal!
3.93 industrial engineering :)

congratulations!!!

Is anyone almost a senior transfer here?

I got into Cal too!! Right now I'm at Davis, already turned in my SIR! Onyee are you set on Cal or waiting for others?

Congrats fayetti !
i am still waiting for Stanford, which is highly unlikely~ But yea, we'll see ;)
What's your major by the way?
