Back when I was attending the Spring Insight, one of the people helping everyone out told me about a new program UCSB debuted this year for transfer students:

It's not as involved as the Freshman Summer Start program UCSB has. It's basically like signing up for regular summer school, but it does have an additional day just for Transitions students where you can talk to an adviser who will help you pick summer school classes as well as helping you plan for your future at UCSB.

Anyone considering this? I was already considering summer school so I could get used to UCSB before the fall, and get to know some of the other transfer (and new freshman) students, and the Transitions program looks like a good plan for summer school studends.

It's really just as much as you'd pay in a regular semester. Unit cost is the same, housing is just like housing any other time of year, and there aren't any additional fees like the freshman summer start program has. I really think it would be worth it for me, especially since I can take the summer to finish my lower division courses.
