Any University of Victoria experiences, demographics info?

My HS senior from California (SF Bay Area) is considering UVic for a bio degree with emphasis in marine bio and a minor or at least lots of courses in Chinese language (Mandarin). He is trans and multicultural (Black and Chinese) and is perceived and treated as a Black man. I’m wondering if anyone has experience or info about what it’s like being a Black man and/or trans at UVic. I have tried to get a demographic breakdown but can’t find one, although I did learn that info for the city of Victoria. I’m also interested in hearing other more general UVic student/parent experiences. Thanks! (Please ignore the Abraham Baldwin College tag that I accidentally added. The website isn’t allowing me to unselect it.)
