Hi! I’m new to this site, but I’ve been lurking a lot for the past few months. I’m interested in USC’s School of Dramatic Arts, and I was just wanting to hear stories from those who probably got into the university/school because of their experiences, essays, skills, etc. as opposed to their grades and test scores. I have decent stats and a relatively high ACT score, but my writing supplements and audition were pretty stinkin’ good.
But I just want to hear from y’all who may have “defied the odds”!
I’m so relieved to hear someone else have the same curiosity! I’m in the same boat! Average GPA, decent ACT score, but excellent LoRs, essays, statements, etc. I honestly haven’t heard enough to truly validate that SDA is only audition based (but at my audition last week, the admission officer said the BFA was by way of audition, not really stats). I would love to hear someone within the SDA program mention their stats, just so I wouldn’t feel like I’m wasting their time.
Would love to know as well. My GPA is in line with USC but my test scores are definitely on the low side.
