any validity to this comment?

So I was visiting my old bf at H a couple weeks ago and his friend caught me off guard when he told me something to the effect of "you should go to Brown, you'd be higher up on the list for hot guys". Basically saying, Harvard girls are a lot hotter than Brown girls and I'd pretty much have my pick of the litter up there. Quite frankly, I think the kid is gay and was just being sincere, but I was kind of offended. My ex eased the pain by saying "I'd think she'd be fiine wherever". But anyways, do you think there are really that many attractive girls at Harvard?

Sorry, but I think that this is an academic, college admissions related board. Could you post this somewhere else?

No offense. :P

The question isn't whether or not they exist, but rather, would they really drop their studies to be with YOU? lol

If you are actually going to pick a school based on how "hot" you would be considered there, then Harvard may not be the school for you. It's a serious academic institution.

lay off the poor person, hotness can be found everywhere, I personally found both college's students to be equally attractive

LOL, it's funny that you asked. You were there. Did you see many?

If this is your question, I can say with 100% confidence that Harvard is not the college for you.

I also will make an exception to my usual rule of not making Harvard admissions predictions: If you bother to apply, I doubt that you'll get in.

Well, based upon the life-telling story of Elle in the American classic "Legally Blonde," one can easily conclude that Harvard does consist of aesthetically pleasing females. However, to this day, I am unaware of any conclusive evidence to prove this hypothesis. I would highly suggest further investigation into finding the answer to this question.

Hahaha this is so funny. Well bcwannabe09, I got in EA--I'm not bad-looking when I brush my hair in the mornings.

Does "bc" stand for Boston College? It sounds like that might be a better fit (although who knows, the girls may be hotter...).

If you're truly worried about how "hot" you will be relative to your classmates, maybe you should look into some schools in underdeveloped third-world nations? The lack of sanitation and health care among natives would probably boost you to the top of the "hotness" scales.

JK...but anyhow, good luck with the apps process...hope you find a school that is a desirable level of hotness. :)

You guys make it sound like the only factor she is considering is hotness. It seems to me she is just asking a general question, and it's not a reflection of whether harvard would be a good fit for her. It's a natural question too.

Sorry, I don't know if there are hot people at harvard, but I would assume so. There will be people interested in you and people that you are interested in no matter where you go. Don't worry about it.

I love this thread. Finally, some unintentional levity on the Harvard board.

<3 this thread

but the men up at Harvard aren't exactly swoon-worthy either.

well ACTUALLY..i was told by a cornell guy this weekend that I would be the hottest girl at any ivy league, period!

he was hitting on you, bc

i love how northstarmom makes such a prediction knowing nothing about you
sure harvard is a "serious acadeimc institution" and all that crap, but college kids are college kids, and its perfectly reasonable to seek an attractive boyfriend as part of your college experience
are all harvard students supposed to be lifeless bookworm drones, northstarmom?

Also, bc never said that the "hotness factor" had anything to do with her college decision. I think her question just stemmed from honest curiosity. What's wrong with that? Can't someone ask a question that isn't entirely serious now and then?

Don't worry, bc, you'll be just fine. The real question is...are there enough hot guys at Harvard to go around? ;)

Northstarmom: I think what you said to bcwannabe was insensitive.

eh, NSM was justified in making that comment. After all, isn't she a guidance counselor?

justified how? Seems like she attacked the OP with no thought to her merits...must be a Republican.

I find it hard to believe that ppl at Harvard aren't at all interested in the looks of their fellow classmates...after all, isn't there a list of the fifteen hottest freshmen every year? As well as seniors, I believe...

http://www.thecrimson.com/article.aspx?ref=348276

"Cornish and Tselentis were the champions of the first-ever Crimson Chaos competition, a website set up to rank senior boys at Harvard by their physical appearance. Starting in a single-elimination bracket of 64 attractive seniors, Cornish and Tselentis, both chosen for FM’s fifteen hottest freshmen four years ago, advanced all the way to a face-off in the final round, where Cornish eked out a victory."
