If anyone has a child or knows of kids who attend Virginia Tech, can you tell me some info. about school. Does the kid enjoy going there? What do they like most/ least about school? How is the housing at school. Any info. would be greatly appreciated. I checked individual listing on VT, but there are only a few threads. Thanks so much.

To view more threads under Virginia Tech, do this:

Go to "My Control Panel" at the top of your screen.
Then go to "Edit Options".
Scroll down to "Thread Display Options" and change the setting in the box marked "Default Thread Age Cut Off" to "Show All Threads."

That way you can see all the threads -- I don't know why the forum isn't just set up that way, 30 days (the default I believe) is just too short for all but the busiest college sites.

Hope that helps you out.

um, u could read my threads. lol.

I know of some students from our area that went to VT in past and really like it--the ones I knew happened to be boys interested in engineering. My D. just returned to her school from spending weekend at VT with some friends. She enjoyed the football game yesterday--said there was active tailgating and everyone was really friendly. This was her first experience in Blacksburg and she felt the town was a "college town"--she had alot of fun and plans to go back for more visits. The people she was visiting were seniors/grad students so they lived off campus, but she said had a nice apt. within walking distance of stadium.

35 of my D's hs classmates are at Tech. They are all officially freshmen although we know a couple of kids who received 30 or more AP credits. VT has deferred rush in January so nobody has pledged anywhere but many of them plan on joining a sorority.fraternity. Some are in the Corps, most are in the dorms. The prospective majors are in a variety of different disciplines. So far everyone is having a good time.

Weenie,
Thanks so much. I will give that a try.
