Looking through past acceptance threads and whatnot, I don't think I ever saw anyone who was a visual artist and put it forth as a strong point... I see a lot of musicians, but never really artists. Did I overlook people, or is art just simply unpopular? Ahaha. I know that Yale has one of the top art programs in the nation, so it's confounding to me that I don't see more artsy stats around.

Personally, I'm hoping to major in art, and I would be enthralled to do it in Yale.
If that proves to be impossible, I'll probably be looking at Cooper or Brown...

I was just extremely curious! Please do put your two cents in here c:

Actually, art was pretty much the defining part of my application - my CommonApp main and Yale supplement essays were about different types of art - and I got in SCEA.

Art art art.
I’m into visual art (traditional art). Submitted a supplement and everything. I got deferred :/

My daughter did, but she is waiting for me to get home from work (in one hour) to check the results together. She attended a prestigious summer art program, had a solo show at an art gallery of figure drawings, and won a few art contests, plus has good stats…she submitted figure drawings, her comic strip that appears in her school paper, and a few other pieces in a supplement. Her interviewer was very interested in her art background.

Yes, Yale has a great art program! Sara Gilbert of “Roseanne” fame majored in art, I believe.
