did anyone get any email from brown, i just got an email from stanford saying they wont be going to their waitlist this year for the first time! Its really disappointing, but im hoping brown might have some good news:)…otherwise i am heading to penn…

word on the metaphorical street of college counselors and students is that brown most likely IS taking students from their waitlist, but probably not too many, and nothing is for sure.

ok around how many do u think please give an estimate i'm dying to know??????????????????????????

gmail do you know where you stand on the list? I'm going to go with no, so what's the point stressing out over how many people Brown will take this year.

I don't believe Brown is going to the waiting list. The other Universities i'm waiting ,said they're not going to take anyone. >>>>>>Stanford, Tufts(already accepted, but friend on Waitlist), JHU

Other universities not going to their waitlists doesn't indicate a thing. Brown could easily have been much more conservative in its acceptances than Stanford, Tufts and JHU were leaving more opportunity for waitlist spots to open up. Also, Duke, Northwestern and Cornell all have already started accepting off of their waitlists.

papatango, are you going to Tufts or Brown?

someone has to know more info about the waitlist...i'm so anxious about it!

well given i got my package on the 17th in 2005, i would expect to hear something in the coming week.

so do you think the notifications will definitely be by mail? a lot of other colleges do it by phone. hmm i'm definitely over-analyzing this and should really not be so anxious haha.

everything i got from brown came via the mail.

ahhh so the package should be coming along
sometime next week
and hopefully ..... with some good news =)

the thing I hate most about being waitlisted is that if you AREN'T accepted, you don't hear ANYTHING until whenever they close the list, at the end of june. it is so long to wait.

not true at all, I received letters from all 4 of my waitlist schools at around the same time. I know of other people who were sent letters about how the first round had gone out and they were still on the waitlist.

So has anyone actually called Brown to see if they were going to their waitlist this year? And if so approximately how many spots they needed to fill?

Brown is going to the wait list this year, according to a letter sent to interviewers. The letter said there are "a few spaces available" and the number accepted will be "very limited." The matriculation rate was 56%, which by my calculations means 1443 students accepted. Classes in the last few years have ranged from 1462 to 1510 in size. I'm not sure what the target is for this year.

thanks for the info- the most comprehensive i've heard : )

I know a kid who was admitted off the waitlist last week.

seriously? where was he from? is he for sure going?

whattt !!
someone was accepted already ? =S
