<p>Yes, when I excluded lower-scoring athletes and legacies from the figures I meant those from both in-state and out-of-state and it would make the averages of both go up, but probably out-of state more so. </p>
<p>The quote that you provided about legacies is interesting. While I don't have any facts on this, I would be surprised if any school, UNC included, didn't give extra leeway to the child or grandchild of a particularly generous alumnus. It would seem short-sighted not to.</p>
