thanks for your post but i do not feel that i am embarassing myself at all. if anything, i'm jealous that my state (NY) does not have a fine state funded institution like UNCCH for me to attend. the SUNY system sucks so NYS kids must look other places, often forfeiting the perks of an public in state education.

as for SAT scores: virtually every college in the country use them in college admissions. further, your SAT score is often the first thing a school might look at when examining a file, thus a great deal of weight are placed on them. i know that SAT's don't matter once you are admitted into college but that's exactly the point- they are crucial to the process. if you are trying to tell me that there is no correlation between SAT scores and intelligence, then our national education system is in a great deal of trouble.

also: if the SAT score for OOS students is almost 100 points higher, i am 99.9% sure (i wish i could find some numbers) that other stats as well such as class rank, gpa, etc. (do they measure intelligence? if not i don't know what does) would also be higher for OOS students as well.

i was actually very angered that you would say that i am embarrassing myself. rather, now that i'm into college, my eyes have opened to a couple of things.
