i was waitlisted as well w/ a 1430/2150, 33 act and 790/790 sat2's... i was ranked 5/400...

they must be protected yield... which is smart of them... i don't think i would have attended even if admitted

waitlisted

SAT 1460/2160
GPA 3.6UW 4.05W

teasurer SHS, in NHS, community service, great essays (except the why emory), etc.

I was applying for the Emory scholars program, and in my "why emory" essay I talked about needing their great merit aid, but was since rejected for the emory scholars, which may indicate (correctly) to them that I will not attend there no matter accepted or not.

I could care less, I'll be going to UF for free for the next 4 years and that's fine with me.

BlueDevilBall and Gastordan, did u guys accept a spot on the waitlist?

no, theres no reason to since I didn't get the scholarship I have absolutely no intention of attending Emory, so all I'd be doing is hurting someone elses chances.

I'm a gator, and I'm fine with that, no reason to hurt someone elses chances who may still want Emory.

when should we hear from Emory if we've been accepted off the waitlist? Also, should we send new recommendations and stuff?

I was also waitlisted......spoke to an admissions officer, she said that being waitlisted means you are already qualified to attend Emory, which means extra recommendations wont really do anything.

The one thing you must do is accept a position on the waitlist, and I kind of got the hint that the sooner you do that, the better.

lol i got waitlisted too but tufts tooke me so boston here i come !!!!

I got waitlisted too but didn't accept it as I'm going to Johns Hopkins. I think it's pretty obvious they have yield protection, but I'm glad their admission practices aren't sneaky like Wash U... only thing I dislike about Emory, however, is that they took like 2 weeks to send me my letter.. oh well haha

I am on the waitlist but I think my stats are excellent.
I think two reasons I am on the waitlist are I didn't show any interest and I applied to pre-med(very competitive). I've sent some updates(formal thank you letter, report card, teacher recommendation letters, visit info etc) to Emory after receiving their decision letter. Could you help me whatelse I can do further? Thanks.

I got waitlisted, but I got into Wash U and CMU so I'll just be going to one of those schools

Are you guys going to take a spot on the wait list even if you don't think you want to go or are you guys sure you're going elsewhere?

Anyone hear from them yet?

SAT 2240
GPA 3.94
EC - 4 years Beta, 4 years Academic Bowl, 4 years abundant volunteer work, 4 years Tennis (captain as senior).

I applied for undergrad admission to Stanford, Emory, and NYU. I was rejected by Stanford, I'm waitlisted by Emory, and NYU is just too expensive. So I'm going to University of Georgia if I don't get off the waitlist. It's imperative that I get in. I think I got waitlisted because I didn't show enough interest in the school, but then again I requested all the info that the application asked about and I cited a couple of references from current students. Should I contact them and tell them that, if accepted, I will go?

This is your best shot, although the chances are still slim.

anyone here think emory waitlisting them is a ****ing joke...i did, so i told them i wanted to know by may 3rd....silly emory

has anyone heard from them yet?
