Any way of getting programming certifications to become hardcore software developer?

i just recently completed my MS in electrical and computer engineering this past May..with a concentration in digital signal processing..which is a fairly coding-heavy concentration..

my previous work exp and UG were more geared toward general electrical engineering..with my UG having some signal processing, a little analog..little digital..and my work exp being in the electric power industry..

so my new job..i got a job as a programmer at a healthcare software company..it's rather ironic bc i only got into programming as a grad student...HATED it like the typical engineer before that..but now that i got into programming, i really like it, and wouldn't mind even making a career out of it..

my question is, is there a way i can get certifications for a ton of languages (like C, C++, Java, Perl, Python, etc)??..most of these languages i've never used (except C), but would like to have advanced level knowledge with them..most of my programming exp thus far has been in MATLAB..and a little bit of C..and as for the job, they use their own proprietary language (so that won't help me in terms of overall software jobs)..i'm thinking of using the fact that i have an MS in ECE, having a job as a programmer currently, and knowing a ton of programming languages, to get a high end software development job, or even data scientist / mathematician (signal processing uses a lot of the same concepts, so i feel like i'd be a good fit, only if i had more programming exp)..

thanks for your help folks!

Knowing a ton of programming languages isn’t required. I’d just focus on one or two, e.g., Java or C++. Knowing SQL and databases is always valuable, so if you have a chance to learn that at work, take advantage of it.

Given your circumstances, getting a Java certification from Oracle wouldn’t hurt.

so, a java certificate from oracle…what about for C and C++? where can i find certifications for those??..like i said, i know C to some extent…and even then, it’s more within an engineering context…so i’m not really that comfortable with some of the more advanced concepts within C, but would like to get expert status with C and C++…

does the oracle java certificate result in advanced level knowledge of java? just wondering…
