Any way to compensate for the lack of a great EC??

Is there any way???
I'm an Asian(intn'l student) in a private high school in US.

I've got some ECs, such as varsity sports, choir groups, some leadership positions, some awards for math competitions, science research, writing, computer science competition, National Merit and so on; however, now that I'm thinking about where to apply and my chances to get in, I realize that I lack a great EC. BTW, I am talking about colleges at the top level, like HYPS,,,esp. P.

I have some ECs as listed above, but not very huge ones to be a hook.
You know what I mean??

What could I do to compensate for lack of a great hook???

A great EC comes from the person, not the EC.. you can make any one of the EC's you are currently in a great EC if you put your thought, heart, and action into it.

I don't know how to start my own club/organization either.
I am pursuing a career in Finance or Math.
What club/organization can you open?
And how do you open it?

I am just a member of Mu Alpha Theta, Student Council, and Spanish Honors Society.

May I suggest starting a math club?

To start a club you need to talk to your teachers/school administrators for more information.

Are you guys saying that any EC can be a great hook, if you really like to do it and express it in essay or someth like that?

Or are you saying we can make great ECs anywhere if we have passion?

Second one seems too obvious,,,
