Any way to get merit-aid at this point?

I thought merit-aid was automatic consideration for BU like it was for USC but turns out it wasnt and I never submitted any financial aid information.
Is it too late to get any merit-aid from BU? Do I have any leverage to the point where I have a state school as my 1a and BU is my 1b and they would want to give me a reason to attend?

I also posted a question regarding that, but no one replied…

I thought the scholarship was automatic consideration for all the applicants, but it wasn’t?
but I’m pretty sure I saw it on the website…

Oh my goodness! I have the same question. I hope someone replies soon!!!

Hey man, I know what you’re feeling. I only submitted my FAFSA on time. Due to my dad being extremely obstinate, I wasn’t able to submit my CSS Profile on time (though I did eventually submit it after I got a notice in the mail from them) and didn’t know about a Non-Custodial Parent Form Waiver until (I kid you not) the day I received my financial aid decision.

The only financial aid I received was federal aid and loans which is NO HELP AT ALL. I think it is really funny when you tell the Uni that your EFC is 0, but they don’t give you anything anywhere near total cost of attendance. But that’s my fault that I didn’t turn my stuff in, and not BU’s.

Anyway, I ended up contacting their Financial Aid office and they said my only hope in getting any institutional aid was to ask for a financial aid app. review. They did note, however, that their coffers are nearly depleted. So, I don’t know if it is worthwhile to go through the rigmarole of having an app review.

So, I think that helps explain your chances. Personally, I don’t know what leverage you think you have on BU. BU has tons of people that like 'em and probably have the money to shell out and attend there on their waitlist.

Didn’t mean leverage necessarily but I would consider BU a safety for me and I thought I would be receiving some type of merit aid. I guess chances are slim to none at this point.
