So I'm at a good height, but recently I have just wanted to know if there is any way to get taller without any awkward things involved (i.e., supplements, etc). I'm male, 20s group. Does anyone know of anything that can work; what consistent exercises or certain things involved (for how long a time) would allow further growth into adulthood? I would love to know, and hope others can share any experiences!

Yea, basketball and swimming help a lot, especially if you consume calcium while involved.

I would say no. This is not something you can control. I believe it is primarily about genetics, and then nutrition, the nutrition part being especially powerful early on.

Turn gay. Then you can wear high heels.

If your growth plates have closed, you’re not likely to get any taller, regardless of any exercises you do. Growth hormone therapy is expensive, and has minimal effect. Alone is mistaken.

Oh well I was talking about <20, I guess I missed the 20s part. What I said works for teens only, I guess.

You could become more secure about yourself, and then this won’t be an issue. Work on being a better person instead of trying to make yourself fit society’s standard of a stud muffin.

Opie, how can you determine if they’re closed? Also, I have heard that you can still grow into adulthood, as there are countless websites (non-scam) that state how to do it without the use of products, all naturally. Does anyone know of a certain website that they can share?

I am tall, I don’t want to be super short, but I would actually like to loose 4 inches lol. Lets trade?

Unfortunately you can’t control it.

How tall are you, zap?

I’ve heard quite a bit of people grow until their early twenties, albeit slowly (like an inch or so total from ages 18~22)…most males are done by 18~19 when growth plates fuse.

You probably won’t grow, honestly, if by slight chance your growth plates are still open, your best bet naturally is to exercise (stretching, etc), eat right, and sleep right…nothing much that you can do.

6’3"

I mean, I’m taller than my brother who is older than me, ha!

Your growth plates are visible on x-rays, as their makeup is different than the surrounding bone. Most people are closed before they turn 20. The other thing to determine your most likely adult height (assuming proper nutrition) is mid parental target height: If you’re male, you take the sum of mom’s height in inches plus five, then add dad’s height in inches, and divide by two. If you’re a girl, you subtract 5 from dad’s height and use mom’s unmodified height. Once the growth plates are fused, you’ll have a hard time adding length to your long bones, which is where most of your height comes from…

That’s odd, I have heard success stories though of people who have gained up to several inches because of intensive exercises and the like that has contributed to their growth. Yeah zap, lets trade. Anyone know anything else of gaining more height.

“people who have gained up to several inches because of intensive exercises and the like that has contributed to their growth.”

How could someone prove it was because of exercise? There could be no identical “control” unless they where twins.

[Epiphyseal plate - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia](Epiphyseal plate - Wikipedia) … bleak prospects.
These people might know something about replacing growth plates:

Also, if you invent a way to do it with stem cells, try to stay off the sex hormones. Estradiol (into which testosterone etc may be converted) hastens the fusion of the plates (XX persons tend to be shorter than XY persons because they have more estradiol).

That link is weird, what does it mean? I meant though if there is a natural way to do it by a consistent routine.

pray to baby jesus

Learning to accept your height is infinitely easier than changing it. As others have said, there is practically no method whatsoever to increase your height once you have ceased growing. In extreme cases there are very painful, expensive surgeries, which even then have minimal results.

Love yourself for who you are. Everyone has things they dislike about themselves, but beauty is too subject of a concept to hate yourself over some ridiculous stereotype you feel you must conform to.

you need the proper genes… otherwise it’s hopeless
