So I got wait listed to Colgate, which I know would probably be disappointing to most, but I'm just happy that they actually thought me qualified to mayyybe go there. Is there any way to improve my chances? Maybe send them a letter or my mid-semester grades? I got really bad first semester grades, and they have definitely improved. I know my chances are low, but I want to do the most I can

It can’t hurt you to write a letter to the admissions office. Include any improved grades and anything else you may have achieved since you applied. State how much you like Colgate (if you have specific reasons, that’s even better) and that you would definitely attend if you were admitted.
Sometimes small schools do want to accept kids who really want to be there. You have nothing to lose. If you have a good relationship with your guidance counselors, it wouldn’t hurt to have one of them look over your letter. They may even have some suggestions for what might have worked in the past. Good luck.
