Any West Coast kids going to IU?

Hey,

Just wondering if any people from the west coast are going to IU next year? I'm from Southern Cal and I'm going to be a direct admit at Kelley

My S is from Northern Calif. and is deciding between IU (DA Kelley) and one other school on the west coast. He seems to be leaning towards IU, and should decide in the next couple of weeks. We are really impressed by everything we hear about Kelley. A guy from our high school is currently a sophomore at Kelley and having a very positive experience.

im from newport beach. deciding between indiana and michigan. hardest decision of my life

Motown…that really is a hard choice. The edge IU would have is the location. Ann Arbor isn’t close to anything more fun that Ann Arbor. U of M does a little more cache value than IU, but it’s negligible in the real world.

My SF Bay Area daughter is a Kelley DA sophomore this year, so if any of your kids want to talk to a west coast student who is there I know she’d be happy to do it.

I’m glad I’m not the only one considering! I was starting to get a bit worried.

IU has many kids from southern california mostly orange county. as far as i know they all like it and transitioned well, i came from similar florida and IU is not working out for me it is too different from the coast.

I am a SoCal resident currently in IU and can say that there are a fair amount of students from CA. You just have to have luck to find them. lol I’ve come across a couple, but it’s been rare over my 3 years here. 2 things that I miss: CA weather and things to do!

I’m also a southern CA resident currently at IU and I’ve met a fair share of them here. In fact, a good 6 or 7 people from my CA high school are in IU’s freshman class along with me and we all love it here. If anyone has any questions about coming to IU all the way from CA don’t be afraid to ask me. An admissions rep told me last year that CA is one of the biggest out-of-state markets for them (next to Illinois and other midwestern states, of course), so finding fellow Californians is not hard at all.
