I'm going to go for junior transfer despite the difficulty. I was just wondering if current Wharton transfer prospects could post their stats. I'm guessing nobody has heard back yet.
Thanks!

From a riguous high school, ranked 47/647.
I am international student so not in the same pool though.

Good luck to ALL!!!

sophomore transfer from ivy league school
gpa: 4.00
rank 1/147 from a competitive prep school
i am also international student :)

ORFE, why the transfer. When I finished Wharton and went to work I realized I'd have had the same job opportunities from most other ivies and top LACs while getting a broader education and having more fun. All of my kids are interested in business careers but none applied to Wharton where they were legacies.

Really? But it is heard that Wharton has strong network. Graduation from Wharton is almost equivalent to high salary and upper class.

It's the same at most ivies and top LACs.

Thank you for your valuable time and information. I am from Michigan-Ann Arbor. I am considering about transfering to Wharton but only acknowledge it is even more competitive than freshman application. Do you think that it is worth taking risk to transfer to Wharton? Or other Ivies are also OK. Thanks~~~

Wharton takes very, very few transfers that are not internal from other schools at Penn. The big problem is that the program starts freshmen year and few have the preparation to come in and hit the ground running. If you're at Ross and have taken all the prereqs, you're in better shape than most. If you also have a very high (close to 4.0) GPA and SAT scores above 2200 (higher helps!), it's worth a try. Good internships help as well, especially with good recs.

If you're looking at jobs in banking or consulting as many Whartonites are, other good choices are Stanford, Yale, Dartmouth, Columbia, Duke.

Thanks for your advice~~~ It is really helpful. Wharton somwtimes is merely a mirage... I am an international student (I am in the class of 2013 and still in high school) and do not have any internship opportunity currently. I have surfed the Internet several days just for an appropriate internship. But I rarely meet the their demands. I am a high school student, not a US permanent resident, some websites, though, provide internships. But the truth is I have to pay for it, which in my opinion is ridiculous. I cannot find any internships for me... Do you have any advice or information? Thanks a lot. The information you provide is really helpful. I feel that I am like a lost boy who cannot find the right path to success. Bless~~

ckm88... by "enough" I assume you have some leadership position (i.e. CS Chair of a business frat) that'll augment your chances of getting in?

nice ORFEboy!
where are you from?

5 junior transfer and 20 sophomore transfers typically in an external class.

Most come from other Ivys, duke, michigan, nyu-stern, notre dame, and vanderbilt.

Every incoming transfer has at least a 3.75, and high SAT scores.

Hope that helps!

that really helps and thanks a lot~~~

Does Penn allow external transfers to retake the SAT/ACT after they matriculated at a college?

I couldn’t find it on their websites and i’m from overseas so calling their office would be expensive. Can anyone shed some light?

Thanks!
