Has anyone received notification yet on departmental awards? Just checking …

Yes. Letter dated 2/15/2011.

Chem E Freshman Departmental Scholarship $1000/yr. You may be eligible for consideration for yearly academic Chemical Engineering Departmental scholarships if you maintain both a cumulative and current gpa of 3.7 or above.

Son is a NMF accepted for 2011.

Has anyone heard anything from COSAM yet? I’m not even sure what the official deadline was to apply … possibly Mar.1

Yes, here for my S.
He got a lettter from Chem Eng. Freshman Dept. Scholarship for $1,000/yr. Renewable.

April 1 is suppose to be the notify date perTALON

D has not heard back yet from COSAM. The application deadline was Jan. 15 and entering freshman are to be notified by April 1st.

General Engineering have gone out, in fact a second wave did recently. Chem E has recently as well.

For the College of Business:

"The application for incoming freshmen and transfer students is now closed. Scholarship decisions will be finalized by the middle of March. In relation to those decisions, all scholarship applicants will be contacted (via Auburn University e-mail) by no later than April 15, 2011. "

Its fairly interesting that so many going into chemE replied.

Engineering in general more than a full month ahead of COSAM with their scholarship notifications – we will continue to wait patiently.

I’m not sure about the timeline this year, but my D received her COSAM scholly last year in mid-February.

Liberal Arts Departmental Scholarships went out Mar 31.

COSAM scholarship letters have now gone out as well … rec. OOS on Mar 30.

According to an Apr 1 email:

“All applicants will receive an e-mail message directly from me [Asso. Dean Gary Waters]. Those messages should be distributed over the weekend and early next week.”

I looked on my financial aid report on the computer and it showed I received the AU Football Lettermen Club Scholarship and it mentioned accepting the award through a response form. Do the scholarship response forms come in the mail?

This may depend upon the department – COSAM sent out a response card, not sure about engineering or liberal arts. You will most likely get something in the mail; see if they send you the form.

College of Liberal Arts:

Though on March 31 we knew via the Auburn Financial system that our D had received a $ 2,000 Liberal Arts Departmental scholarship, we just received the official letter today.

Dean’s Club Annual Scholarship, annual $ 2,000/yr.

This is very generous of the Auburn College of Liberal Arts for an incoming Freshman and will help my D immensely. Every penny helps with all the fees, books, and extra stuff and $ 2,000 is far more that we expected for an incoming Freshmen (if anything at all). My “D” considers herself lucky to get anything extra and even a $ 500 would have been nice…

The scholarship requires an acceptance form, a personal letter to the contributor’s of the scholarship, and there is an award ceremony in August to thank those that contributed to the Dean’s Club.

College of Business:

Our D is signed up as a dual major and we are still waiting on a “yes” or “no” on a College of Business departmental scholarship. The email lasts week said we would be contacted by the end of this week, but nothing yet.

Auburn “Stacks & Racks” scholarships so the more the merrier…

College of Business:

“[We] apologize for the delay in sending out messages related
to College of Business Scholarships. The delay is related to the delay
in determining the spendable amounts for our endowed scholarships. The amounts have been determined. Scholarship decisions are being
finalized. All applicants will receive an e-mail message today,
Saturday, or Sunday.”

College of Business departmental scholarships came via email last night (Sun Apr 10).

My D got a $ 5,000 or $ 1,250 renewable for 4 years. Coupled with the Liberal Arts of $ 8,000 ($2,000/yr), the extra cost of being in the Village (fingers-crossed) will be covered, books covered, food covered, honors fees covered, etc…

Auburn is incredible on the merit stuff. With a smile on her face, my D just sent out the turn-downs to Duke, Stanford, Vanderbilt, Davidson, UGA-Honors, & Clemson-Honors.

We hope everyone the best and your experience with Auburn is as good as ours has started. Don’t forget you can apply every year for departmental scholarships and the ones for non-incoming freshmen can be bigger.

War Eagle!

Well unfortunately I didn’t receive a departmental scholarship. But I’m glad to know that I’ll be surrounded by some smart and fantastic scholarship deserving students in the business school. Can’t wait for the fall.
