Any word on Football recruits?

I hear top 3 CB Kendall Fuller and top 3 Safety Leon McQuay both have Michigan among their top 2 choices going down the stretch. With only three scholies left, I hope those two commit soon.

I really want a second back to complement DeVeon Smith. Derrick Green, one of the top 5 RBs in the nation, would be a nice addition!

Otherwise, this class looks excellent, definitely one of the top 5 classes next year. With those three, it would be the undisputed #1 class!

In the meantime we just lost our top running back to his own stupidity.

[Michigan RB Fitz Toussaint suspended indefinitely after DUI arrest | Michigan Wolverines | Detroit Free Press | freep.com](http://www.freep.com/article/20120723/SPORTS06/120723038/fitz-toussaint-michigan-football-fitzgerald?odyssey=tab|topnews|img|FRONTPAGE)

So much for our chances of beating Alabama. I swear, some of these kids need to be chaperoned 24-7.

Geez - how stupid. That will really hurt him and the team. Just when its looking good something like this has to happen.

What a bonehead! Hopefully, Thomas Rawls is as good as advertised.

So Laquon Treadwell at WR is our top target at this point. He could commit as early as August after his trip to OK St. or could drag it out all the way to signing day, who knows. After that we might be done or may take a very top guy such as Fuller or McQuay. Fuller seems very pro VaTech but if we get him on campus we always have a shot. McQuay is down to us and Vanderbilt, wants to pursue music so that could be interesting. Also this is a pipedream but with Penn State’s sanctions and open transfer rule it’s possible that Silas Redd could transfer to Michigan. That would be awesome, he rushed for 1200 or so yards last year but like I said it’s just an empty hope of mine, there has been no info yet suggesting that besides Redd saying he was considering transferring somewhere after JoPa left.

I wouldn’t worry about Fitz too much. Coach Hoke will make him pay for it in the workouts, but he’ll be reinstated by the start of the season (though he may sit out the first quarter to really drive home the “suspension”). Now, had he gone Aaron Berry on the cop and brandished a gun, maybe Hoke would suspend him for the year/kick him off the team, but as it stands I’d expect Fitz to suit up for 'Bama.

If Fitz plays against Bama in Atlanta, I will lose some respect for Brady Hoke.

'cause Goldenboy has respect for all things Michigan!

At any rate, there are typically several issues with athletes and DUIs. The main one is obviously driving under the influence. The question is, was it simply a boneheaded move or part of a pattern of irresponsible and illegal behavior. I do not recall Toussaint ever being in trouble before. As a first time offense, I think the Coach will probably give him the benefit of the doubt.

The second is underage drinking, but Toussaint is over 21, so that is not a problem.

The third is attitude. Will Toussaint straighten up in he next month and a half or won’t he?

Only the coach can decide what happens to Taussaint. Suspending him to appease expectations of others would be foolish.

That being said, I think it is likely that Toussaint will be suspended for the first and perhaps even second game of the season.

“If Fitz plays against Bama in Atlanta, I will lose some respect for Brady Hoke.”

Brady Hoke graduated from Ball State University. You already have no respect for him.

I certainly may be wrong but I do think Hoke will suspend Fitz for a couple games. It is still relatively early in his tenure at UM and he’ll want to send a message.

Recent Penn State decommit Ross Douglas just committed to Michigan. Looks like it will be Treadwell or another WR to fill out the class.

Not happy with the current series of events. messing with the jerseys for every “big” game, players arrested, and now “B1G” painted across the football field.
It’s like the conference nationalism of the SEC and the superficial flashiness of Oregon.

We should be able to recruit on raw tradition.

Maizeandblue, I am not sure Treadwell will be the next or final commit. I am not saying he won’t be, but Kendall Fuller is down to Clemson, Michigan and Virginia Tech, while Leon McQuay is down to Michigan and Vanderbilt. I would also not discount Derrick Green. Along with Treadwell, any of those three could commit.

Of course, as has been the case with the last four commits, including Ross, Michigan may just round up the class with other ** and *** players who will never see much playing time. I thought those offers were sent out later in the recruiting cycle!

Treadwell is at the top of the coaches’ list. I have pretty solid info on that. As far as taking one more guy, we could do it but that just means another current player that would have to leave the program for one reason or another, be it a transfer or just not getting offered a fifth year. Treadwell is probably only a Michigan lean at this point though, he will visit OK State so of course we will still keep recruiting these guys. Fuller has two family members playing at VaTech, yes he was teammates with Countess but the family connections might be tough to overcome. It also looks like McQuay is a higher priority for the coaches. We haven’t stopped recruiting McQuay but with the recent Douglass signing he may have even more incentive to go to Vandy. Derrick Green is not likely at this point but there’s always a shot.

Thanks for your input MainzeandBlue. It will be interesting to see how the last sopt or two gets filled. Like virtually every season, I expect at least one or two transfers this year. For this reason, I think we can easily take in a class of 25.

Talbott (CB) just left. Not a big deal though.

Shane Morris participated in the Elite 11 QB camp along with other top QBs such as Max Browne, Tyrone Swoopes, Cooper Bateman and Christian Hackenberg. According to Rivals, Morris won the “Howitzer award”, given to the QB with the biggest arm…and by a margin! He lived up to expectations to say the least. Chris Hackenberg also got rave reviews. I wonder if he will remain committed to PSU or if he will commit somewhere else.

Talbott will not be the only one. I am pretty sure another 2-3 will transfer. We still have room for scholies. I think we will end up with a class of 26.

I’m in with a few insider guys that are in contact with people within the program and basically live recruiting. They have said that Michigan is only taking one or two more players. There are 23 current commits.
