Haha I think I’m up for the challenge! And no there weren’t too many people, maybe 10ish I think? Nothing to be too worried about if you didn’t go. Have you taken many ap’s?

Yes…quite a few, but I survived this yr! >=) Physics has been my fav one how about you? And I suppose there really is no point in worrying now XD

Yeah physics was one of my favorite as well, I had an amazing teacher. Yeah, I’m sure worrying won’t help, but that doesn’t stop me from checking the mail multiple times a day until it comes haha.

I know the feeling…it’s like when you open the fridge hoping food materializes…but worse because it’s college … What’s your 2nd choice? And XD I can see why so many people fail physics in college…it is crazy haha

Probably UCI, but I was also waitlisted for duke so we’ll see what happens there. Yeah the food in your fridge probably won’t affect your life as much as college lol. I get your point though.

Oh well I hope you hear good news from any of them and hmm oh did they show you guys the dorms? If so, how did they look?

The dorms were pretty good. Better then the naval academy haha. They had a good amount of room for two people. And they allow wifi, unlike cal poly.

Oh so wifi in the room? That’s definitely a plus…hmm do the president’s scholars tend to stay at a specific building? Sorry for all the questions XD

You have to get a router but they’re pretty cheap. And I don’t think so, I believe you can choose either parkside or residence. And it’s no problem, I don’t mind the questions haha.

Yeah they are and cool haha thanks hmm on the bright side…the thread got a bit longer…it was so hard to find any info about the program other than on the csulb website. Do you know anyone that has gotten in?

Yeah two people have gotten in from my school in the past four years I think. They both really love it there. And yeah I know, I’ve searched for quite a long time and haven’t found any really good sources for info. The only stat I found was that the average gpa of last years scholars was a 4.33.

Oh do you know what their stats were like? No one from my school that I know of… Yeah I saw their (csulb’s) page with stats but it doesn’t help too much in certain cases XD like our gpa’s can’t go past 4.32

Oh really? Why not? And I probably should’ve asked them for their stats but I never did, sorry. If you look on the forums on here for the past couple years you can find the stats of some people who got in.

I’m not sure…it just stops there XD and no prob hmm I will take another look haha I didn’t find much on here

Hi guys I am anxiously awaiting their decision also.

Still no mail today
This thread gives the stats of two people who got in and one who got waitlisted from last year I believe.

Hey AmyleeM, do you live near Long Beach or farther out?

Thanks swimmer300! hmm what do you guys think about the stats? Btw hi AmyleeM is that a reference to Evanescence? Sorry haha curious and yeah…nothing ugh I really need to hear back soon…I was excited because they had said they would tell us at the beginning of March, then they said late March, then early April…ugh and no mail tomorrow…

Yeah it seems that every year the decision gets pushed back. Well maybe it’s better that there is no mail tomorrow, that way we can enjoy Easter!

Hi swimmer300, I do not live near the area, I live about 45 minutes away…and no my name is not a reference. My name represents my mixed heritage because my mother is Asian and my dad is Caucasian.

I got it in the mail on Friday. It’s a three page packet, and I WAS GIVEN THE SCHOLARSHIP I live a few miles away from CSULB, which is probably why I got the mail so early.

This is what the letter says :

"Congatulations _______! I am pleased to offer you the California State University, Long Beach President’s Scholarship beginning in the 2012-2013 academic year. The President’s Scholarship for Valedictorians is valued at approximately $59,000 and will provide you with the following:
