any1 get in with lower than a 1400?

saw the same kind of thread on Stanford

I got a 1430... that's close. 740V, 690M.

Yes, there was a thread here earlier mentioning at least two people who did for MIT '09.

I know two people that did! and they're utterly awesome....scores aren't really that huge of a deal... =)

I have an AMAZING friend who got in last year with a 1360. She is a great person and has accomplished a lot in her life. Scores really aren't everything.

Yes indeed there was some asian male who got in with a 1310 and not a lot of extras IIRC. Upset me a bit, since I applied early, was deferred, was then waitlisted, then finally rejected (no space... again).
1490.

Nope, scores are definitely not everything. I got in with a 1390. SAT scores are just one of the many factors considered.

650-700 is considered competetive, which is enough. Earlier [2-3 years ago?], 650 from both of parts was competetive.

1st SAT score 1310, 2nd: 1360. MIT RD Accepted

it seems like a game of cat and mouse the relationship between applicant/adcom one trying to blur who they are the other trying to see through the haze of score and grades.

I know someone who got in with a 1280. He didn't do any Intel, Siemens stuff either. He is OK at football and his grades are decent but not typical MIT caliber.

good metaphor bad2bu
