Okay then. I have one reason (even though I am talking to myself) why UPS is awesome:
They give awesome financial aid. Seriously.

I got in as well.
UPS is awesome to me because it gave me chills down my spine. I really can't verbalize it any better. It just feels "right" there.

Amen to their financial aid.

I got in too, and the best thing about UPS was them giving a kid from the lower financial bracket with a massively below par gpa a second chance. I appreciated that. They seem to care about who you are.

Oy. I didn't know they gave everyone else great finaid. That hurts... I got in, and I was in love with the school. It was my first choice. And now I can't go because they expect me to pay more than twice my "estimated family contribution".

Call them up. They're REALLY good about listening to your situation and then giving you more aid if your reasons are good. There's also the possibility that they made a mistake... twice the EFC is pretty crazy...

I wrote them a detailed letter telling them about my 2 siblings in college, my dad about to retire, and other financial difficulties... In addition, I have pretty good grades, ECs, SATs, etc. Anyways, they replied saying that they calculated those factors into my financial aid application and it made "no significant difference" and they couldn't offer me any more aid. So it is impossible, I've given up - I'm going to UC Santa Cruz.
